GEO or SEO: what is the difference?
SEO targets Google's list of links. GEO targets the answers an AI writes: AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity. Both stand on the same foundations. Google says so in its guide to generative AI search: for Google, GEO is still SEO. Our SEO agency in Morocco and our AI search work therefore go hand in hand.
Can you guarantee that ChatGPT will cite me?
No, and nobody can. Each assistant picks its own sources, and the answer changes from one question to the next. Our work raises your chances: a readable site, clear facts, the same information everywhere. Be wary of any offer that promises you a place in ChatGPT.
How long before I see an effect?
We will not make up a timeline. OpenAI and Perplexity say a robots.txt change takes about 24 hours to be picked up, but nothing about how long before you are cited. After that, it depends on your sector and your competitors. Every month we ask the same questions again to see what moves.
Do I need an llms.txt file?
It does no harm, but there is nothing magic about it. Google says it does not use it for Search. Other tools may read it. We publish one on our own site, technopek.com/llms.txt, and suggest one for yours when it makes sense.
How do I know whether AI sends me visitors?
Visits from ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini leave a trace: we set them apart in your analytics. Our own CRM already counts them separately. Google includes AI Overviews and AI Mode in the Search Console Performance report, under Web (Google documentation). Bing Webmaster Tools has an AI Performance report for citations in Copilot.
What should my site contain to stand a chance of being cited?
Direct answers to your customers' questions, your address, opening hours and services, and the names of the people who sign. An author page shows who is speaking, like our founder's. Google stresses original content drawn from your own experience, rather than a summary of what can be read elsewhere.
